One pasta salad that reminds me of my youth is the Ranch Pasta Salad! This is one of those recipes that would always make an appearance at any family function we would attend over the years. It's probably because it couldn't be any easier to make, it's loaded with flavor, and it has only 5 ingredients!! I'm going to share the most basic way to make this salad, but you could add so many different ingredients to have it fit your flavor profile!
First, you will need to make your ranch dressing about an hour before putting together the rest of the pasta salad. The dressing needs time to thicken in the fridge.
Second, boil your tri-color pasta according to the package. Once the pasta has been cooked you can let it drain and set in your strainer until it has a cooled (about 10 minutes) before putting all of the ingredients together.

Make sure you have a big enough bowl. Dump in your pasta, pour ranch dressing over the top and then add in your cheese. That's it! At this point, you could also add black olives, cubed rotisserie chicken, bell peppers, broccoli, etc...
On this particular night we at the pasta with fried fish, but it goes great with grilled chicken, pork chops, hot dogs, ribs, or hamburgers. Your options are endless!
